WARNING for those who file tax's.

I heard about this phone scam, scammers send out a TXT notice to your phone using a SPOOFED phone number that may or may not be your local taxation center.

If you click the included shortened ( which hides the true localtion ) link you'll end up on a spoofed website that looks a lot like your tax office website.
If you look at the URL you'll see spelling mistakes or look-alike tax center or web URL's.

The website will ask for personal info to validate you as the proper person to claim the refund they mention...

DON"T DO IT
What happens on that website could range from just stealing you personal info including address phone number bank account number(s) and even maybe ask for the account password for direct deposits ( which isn't needed for direct deposit ) right down to getting a virus....

iF YOUR PARANOID CALL YOUR TAXATION CENTER DIRECTLY WITH PHONE NUMBERS FROM YOUR TELEPHONE BOOK OR WEB PHONE LISTINGS ONLY,

NEVER USE ANY NUMBERS INCLUDED IN THE MESSAGE CAUSE THEY PROBABLY WILL BE SPOOFED OR EVEN FORWARDED TO THE SPAMMERS FAKE TAXATION CALL CENTER.

Probably wouldn't hurt to report this call to your local police or phone scam centers.. the police may have the numbers to call if they wont deal with the problem them selves.

So i tried to unshorted the link provided, turns out it comes drom an asian web link shortening service.
Got google translate to convert to english so i could figure out how to un-shorten it, but that just sucked..

So i bit the bullet and used firefox's private browsing window to visit the website ( curious to see whats there ),  got a webpage in an asian language again.. back to google translate i went, find out that the webpage link has been flagged already

in such a case of suspicious links always, use vpns, try combining the vpn with the tor browser, private window browsing ain't gonna help much in such a scenario, don't download any files from the site, if you want more safety measures look for the site here.

always remember, that everyone is trying to get the money you've made. even your own bank they try to scheme you with offers and accident covers. remember they make profit when you don't. so be careful with it

Interestingly the spelling mistakes in these things are intentional, the theory is if you don't notice/care you are more likely to complete your part in the scam and give them your hard earned cash... the moral being stay in school and learn to spell!
