Introduction

This document describes how we (Classdev) use the general or personal information you provide when visiting our Site (classdev.net).

IP address

Whenever you visit our website, you automatically submit your public-facing IP address as a part of each web request. We log that IP address every time you visit our page. This helps us count page visits, and helps in determining malicious traffic.

Cookies are data we can tell your browser to store locally, so we can use in future requests. We use the following cookies:

"sessionkey" - To remember that you've logged in. This cookie gets deleted once you close the browser, or after 30 days if you've turned on the "Remember me" option when logging in.
"tzone" - To remember your current timezone, so we can display timestamps in your local time.

When you register on our Site, you are required to provide your email. We use your email when we need to confirm your identity, or contact you for anything concerning your account or usage of our Site. We do not send any recurring newsletters. Your email will never be given out to any third-party services, present or future, or to any other website without your consent.

Other information you provide

You can voluntarily provide information to enhance your experience (like a display name, personal status or signature). You can, at any time, modify this information in your account settings. All information you add to your account is public by default. You can choose what gets shown to other users in the Privacy section of your account settings. Not all information can be hidden completely.

Deletion

You can, at any time, delete your account in your account settings (section Settings). By default, everything will be deleted except your username, email, posts, and messages, which remain for context-preservation. If you prefer, you can always request us to delete this additional data, though deleting your email will make it further impossible for us to identify you in case you want more of your content deleted.

Deletion actions are permanent on the current instance. However, we also keep periodic backups of our site to ensure our service remains intact in the event of a serious outage or security breach. Your deleted data may remain in these backups for up to 30 days. In the event of a data recovery from a backup, your previously deleted data might reappear. We will notify you when we restore a backup.

We will make a public post when changes are made to this privacy policy.
